Join the International Institute of Buffalo and Parkside Lutheran Church for our fifth annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday, November 18th, 2026 at 5:30PM! Now, more than ever, it is important that we show our New American neighbors that Buffalo is a city that welcomes them with open arms.
We invite parishioners and volunteers to prepare both traditional American and international dishes and join us for the evening. For those that are less cooking-inclined, we are also offering the option to "sponsor" a dish by purchasing catered dishes from restaurants based on the backgrounds of our clients (for example, Afghan, Burmese, Ethiopian, etc.)

In addition, we are also collecting the following items to distribute to families at the dinner:
- Rice
- Pasta
- Bread
- Pita bread
- Flour
- Sugar
- Cornmeal
- Vegetable or corn oil
- Tea
- Dried or canned beans (black, red, kidney, garbanzo, etc.)
- Dried lentils
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Tomato paste
