Parkside Thanksgiving

Join the International Institute of Buffalo and Parkside Lutheran Church for our fourth annual Thanksgiving Dinner on November 19, 2025 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Now, more than ever, it is important that we show our new American neighbors that Buffalo is a city that welcomes them with open arms.

We invite parishioners and volunteers to prepare both traditional American and international dishes and join us for the evening. For those that are less cooking-inclined, we are also offering the option to “sponsor” a dish by purchasing catered dishes from restaurants based on the backgrounds of the International Institute’s clients (for example, Afghan, Burmese, Ethiopian, etc).

At the dinner, we will also collect winter items for our new-to-Buffalo neighbors: shovels, home weatherproofing items (door draft stoppers, weatherstripping, insulating foam for windows), winter clothing, heavy coats, hats, gloves, boots, warm blankets (new or handmade).
