ASH WEDNESDAY  Weds, March 5th: We have 3 opportunities to gather:

Dinner and Family Service 6pm: This will take place in the Fellowship Hall of Parkside and is geared for families, but anyone is welcomed. We plan to order a couple of Pizzas. Please let Pastor Jeremiah know if you might attend so we can have enough pizza. After dinner Pastor Jeremiah will offer a brief worship service. (approximately 15 minutes) Picture an extended Children’s Message but with communion and imposition of Ashes included! This worship will remind all in attendance that God makes beautiful things. The ashes on our forehead remind us we are one of God’s beautiful creations.

Traditional Worship 7pm: The Theme of Lent this year is Everything in Between, meeting God in the midst of extremes. Our Ash Wednesday worship will have the theme of intention and action. The 40 days of Lent are a great time to set our intentions and focus our actions to be more aligned with the way of Jesus. This worship is at 7pm and takes place in the sanctuary. Similar to what you might experience on a Sunday morning with the addition of imposition of Ashes.

Fasnachts and Fellowship following the 7pm Worship Service: Sponsored by a Brewing Theology group, we will have a time for conversation and community. A chance to wrestle with why we have a worship that reminds us of our own mortality. An opportunity to consider collectively where we should be setting our intentions. This gathering is always filled with laughter, deep thoughts, and a sure way to meet some new friends.
